Abstract

This text is part of a doctoral dissertation which was carried out by a member of the research group called Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas sobre Imaginário, Educação e Memória (GEPIEM) whose main interests are the imaginary, education and memory. It aimed at problematizing teachers’ human development at the beginning of their careers by focusing on the body. This paper reflects on the memory of the biographical body in the education process of five Pedagogy students at the Universidade Federal de Pelotas, located in Pelotas, RS, Brazil, as an important element in teacher education. The imaginary and the studies of (self)education are theoretical anchors to trigger reflexion on the anthropological and personal reservoir as representation boosters.
